IVF Update #15: Love at First Sight

Image
Hello friends and family, It's official!  We're having a baby!!! Meet our little "squudge": We had our first OB ultrasound this morning and confirmed that baby is indeed growing in the right place, sized perfectly for his/her gestational age, and we even got to see a tiny heartbeat flicker on the screen! We know that there is still a long way to go, but we are feeling very hopeful and optimistic.  This is the first time we've seen a heartbeat with any of our pregnancies.  It has been a really great day. Our next appointment is  in two weeks  and if all goes well we will "graduate" from the fertility center!   Prayer Requests: 1. Praise! We are pregnant!  We are so overjoyed and thankful for this little life. 2. Pray that our baby would continue to grow strong and healthy. 3. Please pray for peace and trust in God.  Because of our past losses, it is hard not to brace for bad news at each appointment.  Please p

IVF Update #14: The Waiting Game

Hello friends and family, We know you've all been waiting so patiently and eagerly with us as we await the results of our blood test!  So far it is good news!  For our first blood test, the doctor told us that they are happy with any number over 150... Jess's number was 2008!  Well over what we even dared to pray for. This means that the embryo did indeed implant and now we are praying that it is in the correct spot and growing!! Unfortunately, that part won't be confirmed until next week, so the waiting continues just a little longer until we feel like we can really believe this is happening.  However, we are so encouraged that everything seems to be going in the right direction so far.  The wait until next week seems agonizingly long, but we are hopeful and trying to be as patient as possible.  We are praying that next week we get to send you all the message that we have been waiting to share with you for over 5 years!  Prayer Requests: 1. Please cont

IVF Update #13: "Don't Fall Out, Baby!"

Hello friends and family, Thanks again for your patience and your faithfulness to pray for us even when we are late to send out our updates. ;) Our transfer last Monday went well and we thank you so much for your prayers.  We are officially PUPO (as they say in the IVF world) or Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise! Here is a picture of the tiny embryo you all have been praying for! Now we wait some more and continue to pray for the embryo to implant and grow in the correct place.  We have a blood test next week to verify whether or not the pregnancy took. Prayer Requests: 1. Please continue to pray that our baby would grow! 2. Praise: Jess made it to Massachusetts (and back) safely and was able to see her grandfather and say goodbye before he passed peacefully at home Friday evening. 3. Please pray for patience, peace, and emotional stability through all the ups and downs we've experienced lately.  Video We love you guy
