IVF Update #1: Insurance and Start Dates

Hello friends and family,

We got some exciting news this week:  Our insurance has officially authorized our coverage for IVF.

We are currently approved to begin in March, but the doctor's office is hoping they can get the insurance to bump the start date to February.  This means that we could be starting treatment with Jess's next cycle in just a couple of weeks.

Another praise: Normally, women who start IVF have to be on the birth control pill for a month prior. This helps with hormone management and scheduling purposes (so they know exactly when the next cycle will start and can plan appointments).

Our preference would be to not have to do the birth control and since Jess's hormones and cycle seem to be pretty regular already we were told that it wouldn't be a problem at all and she most likely won't need that extra month of medication before being able to start!
Prayer Requests:
1. Please pray that we can get all our ducks in a row in time to start treatment with minimal hiccups and/or stress.  This includes ordering medications, applying for frozen embryo preservation, finishing consent forms and "injection training", and getting approval from insurance to bump the start date up to February.

2.  Please pray for our trust to remain in God and God alone.  It is tempting to believe that our success lies in the hands of the insurance company, the doctors, the drugs... so many places other than God.  We know that ultimately it is all in His hands, pray that we would remember that in the day-to-day.

3. On a similar note, please pray for peace and hope.  We feel like we are on that part of the roller coaster at the beginning when the cars are slowly creeping up and up and up and we are just waiting for the ride to take off and leave our stomachs behind us.  It is scary and it is tense.  Jess especially is struggling not to be anxious about all the needles she will have to endure and the possible side effects she may encounter.
Thank you all for walking this journey with us.  We can't tell you how much it means to know we have your support and prayers.

Love to you all,
Doad and Jess
